Grace Iacuone, LPC-S, RPT-S
Grace Iacuone, M.Ed. is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S). She earned her Master's degree in Counselor Education from Texas Tech University and Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Southwestern University.
Leadership and Professional Development
Grace is a Past President of the Texas Association of Play Therapy, where she served five years in board leadership roles. She is a graduate of the Association for Play Therapy's (APT) Leadership Academy and currently serves on the APT Conference Committee.
Grace teaches for the Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy for Children & Adolescents Post Graduate Certificate Program at The Ukraine Institute for Education in Psychology and Counseling. Under the leadership of Steve Graner, she helps facilitate a group of Ukrainian therapists teaching Bruce Perry's Neurosequential Model to schools supporting students during wartime. She has also partnered with a Ukrainian graduate student to create mobile play therapy kits for therapists to utilize with children in the field.
Additionally, Grace is a Synergetic Play Therapy Consultant for the SPT Institute, facilitating monthly consultation groups for students completing the Introduction to Synergetic Play Therapy Program. In these groups, she provides clinical supervision and teaching, helping play therapists integrate synergetic principles while building confidence in their therapeutic work.
In 2024, Grace completed her certification as a Trained Demartini Facilitator and has helped facilitate Dr. Demartini's signature Breakthrough Experience nationwide. She is currently studying cutting-edge methodologies in perspective shifts and quantum physics principles through a weekly mastermind group led by Donna Parker, focusing on Dr. Demartini's work.
Grace is also a Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) provider in partnership with Journey Clinical, utilizing her extensive years of experience in integrative healthcare to provide a promising treatment option for treatment-resistant depression and clients who feel stuck in therapy.
Additionally, Grace is a certified Daring to Rest Yoga Nidra Facilitator and is currently studying under Karen Broady in her Daring to Rest coaching program, helping women break free from burnout and embody a rest-centered life.
Professional Experience
With 20 years of counseling experience, Grace has worked in diverse settings including grief counseling through Hospice of Lubbock, college counseling at the Texas Tech Counseling Center, child and adolescent home-based community counseling, and inpatient treatment at Green Oaks Hospital in Dallas. She spent over four years at Fair Oaks Youth & Family Center of Dallas ISD providing school-based counseling for K-12 refugee students and their families. Before relocating to San Antonio, Grace managed medical and mental health services for two Youth and Family Centers through Dallas ISD.
In 2013, Grace opened Grace Iacuone Counseling, PLLC to provide specialized care for individuals and families in San Antonio. She later co-developed and managed an innovative integrated healthcare model alongside a local psychologist and pediatrician, providing counseling services within a pediatric practice.
Areas of Specialization
Grace's extensive experience has developed her expertise in grief counseling, cultural adjustment, attachment, family conflict, major mental illness, depression, anxiety, crisis management, integrated healthcare, college and young adult adjustment, postpartum depression and anxiety, caregiver and helping professional support, burnout, self-esteem, and play therapy.
Therapeutic Approach
Grace practices from a foundation of Family Systems and Humanistic theories (Client-Centered and Existential), combined with mind-body modalities including Synergetic Play Therapy and Interpersonal Neurobiology. She has additional training in Internal Family Systems, Theraplay, Neurosequential Model, Demartini Method, and Sandtray therapy.
Personal Life
Outside the office, Grace enjoys life with her husband and their two active sons. She loves traveling, exploring the outdoors, gardening, swimming, water skiing, sports, hiking, yoga, and learning. As a former NCAA athlete, Grace learned at a young age the importance of work-life balance and the value of rest—principles that now inform both her personal life and professional practice.
